DPS Technology Challenge Accepted
Today I declare that I shall accept the DPS Technology Challenge. I am taking up this challenge because it sounds like a flexible and fun way to get better at using technology in the classroom. Whether as a teacher or as a coach, I need to beef up my skills. I am becoming more aware all the time that some of the ways we are teaching and evaluating students are becoming archaic and do not represent the types of challenges our students actually face and will continue to face in their adult lives. I need to be teaching and evaluating my students in the milieu of the 21st century, not the 20th century. I hope to learn many things this summer that will help me make some changes in my teaching practice.

I agree with Beefing Up Skills. I also hope to learn many things. The idea of Google Reader makes so much sense- I think it will save me time. I also feel like the more confident I am in the use of technology the more I will pass that on to my future students. I remember one thing from school that stuck with me. Technology Bridges the Achievement Gap. I look forward to taking part in this effort.
ReplyDeleteOur students live in a "hi-tech" world. In accepting this challenge, my goal is to help my students utilize technology in new ways (new to me, too!). I am hopeful that these experiences will help to shrink the achievement gap at Club, and, in a larger sense, enable students to become fully integrated into our global community.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI'm participating in the DPS Tech Challenge too. I hope to learn some new and exciting things to incorporate into my classroom next year. Happy Blogging!
